1. Photo One
- I picked this image because I really like the intensity of the photo and the story it tells of his victory.
-This photo was shot by Neil Leifer in Lewiston, Maine on May 25, 1965 during the boxing match between 34-year-old Sonny Liston and 23-year-old Muhammad Ali who had taken the title from Liston the previous year. This photo captures one minute and fourty-four seconds into round one of their match when Ali knocked Liston down and proceeded to taunt him by yelling,"Get up and fight sucker!"
-Muhammad Ali was widely adored in the 60s and well known for his strength and poetic brashness. After changing his name to Muhammad Ali and declared he was apart of the Black-Muslim sect, after this many reporters refused to refer to him by his new name.

-Neil Liefer was born december, 28th 1942 New york, NY.  He learned his talents at the Henry Street Settlement House, which offered free classes to the poor kids of the neighbood.
2. Photo Two
-I chose this photo because its shock value and powerfulness really hit me, the second i looked at this picture I felt sick.
-This photo was shot in Biafra, Africa a small western nation that split off from Nigeria and was reclaimed less than three years later. The photo captures a nine year old boy living in the worst situation possible, not only is he death but he's albino, leaving victim to torment from his peers. McCullins photo pressured government to send large airlifts of medicine, weapons,  and food. And eventually this photo and others inspired the organization Doctors Without Borders, which sends medical aid to countries in need.
-McCullin talks about why he cant stand his own photo. He describes the horrors he saw in camps of hundreds of kids slowly dying, some dropping dead right in front of him. And he felt ashamed, ashamed to be part of a race that would let this happen, and to children. No child should have to face the slow painful death of starvation.
-Don McCullin was born October 9th, 1935 in Finsbury Park, London. He attended the Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts but dropped out when he was 15 and was drafted to the Royal Air Force.

3. Photo 3
-I picked this photo because I tend to be more interested in photos with a difficult story. The heartbreaking photos with difficult stories that no one wants to see, but go viral because they need to be seen.
-This photo was shot on August 28th 1937 right after Japan dropped bombs on Shanghai. Wong saw the infant on the ground, bloodied, and in tears sitting next to his now dead mother. He immediately shot the photo before running to scoop up the child. 
-The photo was immediately sent to New York and was published in several news reels, newspapers, and magazines and was viewed over 136 million times. This photo influenced the U.S., France, and Britain to formally protest the war and later convinced western countries to join what would be the second great war.

- H.S. Wong was born in 1900 in Beijing, China and died March 9th, 1981 in Taipei Taiwan. He owned a camera shop and shot for several newspapers.

4. Photo 4

-I chose this photo because its sickening and near impossible to imagine what this girl was feeling in this moment, she just witnessed both of her parents being murdered and is now surrounded by foreign soldiers.
-This photo was shot in 2005 at the height of the Iraqi war. The girl's parents plus her five sibling are in her car when her parents are suddenly shot. This photo spread around the world bringing put the question, why were we hurting the people were supposed to be helping?
-The video talks about how he remembers the horror of the situation. How the unit may have been on edge from a shootout earlier that day. How some children were covered in their own blood, some in their parents.
-
-Chris Hondros was born march 14th, 1970 New York, NY and died April 12th, 2001. He studied at Oklahoma state.

5. Photo 5
-I picked this photo because its simple but shows a lot of bravery.
-On the morningof June 5th, 1989, the day after Tianamen Square massacre, and Widener was on a 6th floor balcony shooting photos of bloody victims and citizens. Suddenly a line of tanks rolls out and a man with bags of groceries steps out in front of them.
-Widener recalls the situation how the hotel he shot at was beating journalist so he hid his gear went up to a random western boy and pretended to know him, then asked if he could go to his room. Widener is on the balcony watching them move bodies, movie scorched buses, crushed bikes, when all of a sudden a line of tanks starts moving toward him. He sets up to take a photo when a man still anonymous to this day steps out in front of them. He yells at them, blocks them, swings his bags at them, and even climbs on it.

-Jeff Widener was born August 11th, 1956 in Long Beach, CA. He attended Moonpark college.
